PURCHASE CONTRACT AND GUARANTEE

Congratulations on the purchase of your American Bulldog. We feel that this is one of the best dog breeds ever created. The American Bulldog will do almost anything you ask of it, and is one of the most loyal, intelligent, protective dogs that you will find!

Enclosed in this care sheet/guarantee is the information we feel will help you in taking care of your new dog. Your dog has been weaned onto solid food. We feed a raw diet. We have had great success with this food. If you choose to feed commercial food, please stick with premium dog foods, as the grocery store brands are not made with as pure ingredients. And make sure to keep a watchful eye on commercial dog food product recalls.

Your dog has been minimally vaccinated while at our home. Vaccinations already given at the time you pick up your puppy will be noted below. Any additional vaccination program is your choice. However, we strongly recommend researching and learning about less aggressive vaccination protocols and consider your options before vaccinating your puppy. It will ultimately be your decision, and should be discussed openly with your vet. If your vet cannot or will not provide you with information presenting pros and cons of either choice, choose another vet. You are being supplied with a registration for the American Bulldog Association. You must pick a name for your dog and return the form to the ABA with the appropriate fee for the dog to be registered. This must be done before the dog reaches six months of age to be valid. We would appreciate it if you would append your dog’s registered name with “of Eagle’s Wing” or “of EWK.”

Guarantee:

Our dogs are guaranteed to be free of congenital defects, and also guaranteed to be free of serious infectious diseases (ie. parvovirus). The puppy must be vet checked for infectious diseases within forty-eight hours of purchase of the dog for this guarantee to be valid. If a dog becomes sick within the incubation period of leaving our kennels, and the problem can be traced to our kennel, we will reimburse the owner up to the purchase price of the dog. If the dog is immediately treated and still dies, we will choose a replacement puppy of comparable value as soon as one becomes available. We also guarantee against the following genetic problems;

A) Hip dysplasia - The dog must be Pennhip certified at two years of age. The evaluation must come back higher than the median score, with degenerative joint disease (DJD), for replacement of the dog.

B) Crossed eyes

C) Congenital Heart Problems

D) Entropian or Ectropion

E) NCL (if both of your puppy’s parents are not NCL clear, your puppy has been DNA tested in order to identify whether it is NCL clear or a carrier of the gene. Eagle’s Wing Kennels guarantees your dog will not be affected by the disorder, but purchaser is responsible to ensure that any pup identified as a carrier is not bred back to another dog identified as a carrier in the future to avoid producing affected dogs).

All guarantees are void if the dog has been bred, is injured, malnourished, overweight, or kept in an improper environment. We will replace a defective dog after we receive written proof, x-rays, etc., from your vet, and a second opinion from our vet. We also require that you provide proof of spaying or neutering the dog in question. The replacement dog will be of our choice, and of comparable value.

The purchaser agrees that if they can no longer keep the dog, it will be returned to Eagle’s Wing Kennels American Bulldogs, not an animal shelter or dog pound. Purchaser will receive no compensation from us, as we will be incurring vet bills and food bills for the rescued animal.

The information and help we provide as breeders of American Bulldogs does not end with the sale of a dog to you. We encourage you to keep in touch with us. Purchase of Male Pup: Purchaser agrees to provide Eagle’s Wing Kennels with two complimentary breedings from the purchased dog to a bitch of Eagle’s Wing Kennel’s choice for a litter to be produced by Eagle’s Wing Kennels. Eagle’s Wing Kennels will be responsible for any costs associated with collection, shipping or associated breeding expenses, however, there will be no stud service charge by purchaser to Eagle’s Wing Kennels.

Half Priced Puppy: If a puppy purchased and produced by Eagle’s Wing Kennels is trained and achieves a recognized working title, i.e., Schutzhund, Ring, PSA or comparable title, Eagle’s Wing will sell purchaser another puppy for 1/2 of the regular price of a pick puppy in any litter purchaser may choose that is produced by Eagle’s Wing Kennels. The puppy must also retain the name “Eagle’s Wing Kennel” or “of EWK” in its registered name in order to qualify.

THIS PUPPY: Litter name “__________” is NCL CLEAR __ CARRIER __. An NCL carrier should not be bred to any dog that has not been DNA tested and reported to be clear of the NCL gene. ____________ has been vaccinated with one Parvovirus vaccination on _________. The type of vaccination used is _________________________. ________ was vaccinated with one Distemper vaccination on _________. The type of vaccination used is _________________. ____________ has not been given any chemical wormers, but has been wormed using Diatomaceous Earth, which is a natural product which kills worms and other invertebrate parasites living in the dog’s digestive tract when used regularly. You will be supplied with a sample of this product, which you can purchase at most feed stores (make sure you purchase food grade Diatomaceous Earth (“DE”) and not the variety used for pool filtering).
